Year 8 Boys’ Rugby team

The Year 8 Boys’ Rugby team narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Lancashire ‘All Schools’ competition as they lost a final against St Mary’s Catholic High School 4-0.

Oulder Hill qualified from their group as they played against Manchester Academy, Broadoak High School and East Manchester Academy.

The boys played amazingly well and were a credit to the school. Both Mr Bardsley and Mr Jackson were proud of the discipline, teamwork and respect they showed as a team throughout the competition.

The successful Key Stage 3 team consisted of Connor Marrow, Dylan Stott, Bailey Mills and Tommy Coleman. The Key Stage 4 team was made up of Will Taylor, Emmerson Bradshaw, Marcus Welsby and Joe Wrest.

The Year 7 and 8 teams also entered the competition; the students who took part were: Hasan Sharif, Ethan Kwei-Sutcliffe, Josh Smith, Spencer Allen and Will Strudwick.

Austria

42 students spent half term in Austria on what was perhaps the most successful ski trip to date. The students were fantastic and a real credit to the school. The PGL rep (another teacher from North London) was highly complementary of our students. The instructors were full of praise and wished all their groups were like us. The students did not want to come home, they were buzzing. Thank you to all the staff who accompanied the students on the trip, and those back at school who made the trip possible.
