“Three brain tumours won’t stop me”, says Michelle Hallworth

Three brain tumours hasn’t discouraged Michelle Hallworth from getting to work on an exciting new drama production for the children of Middleton Pop Stars Academy.

Michelle, from Middleton, who has been in and out of hospital in the past few years with persistent and potentially life-threatening tumours, says that it’s her suffering that has given her the determination to do something productive, because she refused to be defeated by illness.

Her new drama production, which is based on Disney characters and their quest to find Mickey Mouse, has been so successful that it is scheduled for performance at Middleton Pop Stars Academy on Saturday 2 April.

She said: “It is great that the children are going to act out the play, I am really proud to be a part of this. When I was ill I didn’t think it would be possible to focus on such a project, but it is getting ill that has made me want to do it more. I want to keep my mind active and if anything it is going through the brain tumours which has prompted me to do it.

“The play is about Minnie who is missing her Mickey, he has been away for a long time visiting some of his other Disney friends. She is really desperate to find him and sets out on an amazing journey.

“Working her way through six different Disney scenes, she meets some well-known characters who entertain her with song and dance to help her along the way. Elsa, Anna and Olaf from Frozen. Ariel and Flounder from Little Mermaid, the Genie and a whole host of Aladdin characters, Jungle Book and Lion Kind friends and Woody, Bullseye, Jessie and Buzz from Toy Story.”

Michelle’s incredible fortitude also caught the attention of the BBC, who recently interviewed her about her success.

She added: “I just hope the children can enjoy it. I love working with them and we are all really excited about the show”.
