Supporters of Rochdale and Littleborough Peace Group gathered in Littleborough this week to "emphasise the dangers posed to the world by the Trident nuclear weapons system".
They gathered around a mock missile with the message, 'Rochdale and Littleborough need flood defences not nuclear defences' and advertising the national Stop Trident march and rally in London on Saturday 27 February 2016.
Philip Gilligan, from the Peace Group, said: “As our placards said, we want our taxes spent on the National Health Service and decent homes not on nuclear weapons of mass destruction. If even one of the Trident missiles was ever used, it could kill as many as 10 million people. This is not the future we want.”
