Sunday bus service for the chop

Transport for Greater Manchester is withdrawing the 412 Sunday service
A Middleton bus route is among those to be axed under a regional transport savings drive.
The 412 Sunday service, which provides an hourly link between Middleton and Oldham via Royton and Boarshaw is due to be withdrawn from 3 April.
A spokesman for Transport for Greater Manchester, which helps to financially support the service, said the decision was due to lack of demand after a recent survey showed an average of around one passenger per trip.
The move is part of service cuts across Greater Manchester and includes withdrawing 28 supported services and a further 45 reductions or rationalisations, all part of TfGM’s attempt to save £7.1 million in the two years to March.
