Harry's Chicken & Pizza, on Yorkshire Street, has voluntarily closed following a visit from Rochdale Borough Council's Public Protection Service.
A spokesperson from Rochdale Council said: "The Public Protection Service was alerted to this premises via a complaint.
"Officers visited and the premises has voluntarily closed.
"Works are underway to improve standards and the Public Protection Service will re-assess before the premises reopens."
