Jordan Smith facing jail for brutally beating up his dog

Date published: 17 February 2016

Cruel thug Jordan Smith, who was caught brutally beating up his dog and lashing it with a belt, is facing a jail sentence.

Smith, 20, of Middleton Road, Heywood, punched and lashed his Staffordshire bull terrier including an attack with a belt during a three-month period of abuse.

Appalled, Smith’s neighbours witnessed some of the attacks and caught them on film, showing him hitting the animal nine times with a belt.

Smith admitted a charge of causing an animal unnecessary suffering when he appeared at Rochdale and Bury Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday 16 February).

Magistrates have adjourned the case until Thursday 10 March.
