Three-car smash, New Barn Lane, Sudden

Delays were caused on Manchester Road this afternoon (Wednesday 17 February) after a three-car smash on the junction with New Barn Lane, Sudden.

Police and ambulance services attended the scene shortly after 12.00pm following calls of the collision between a Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Passat and Land Rover Freelander.

Paramedics attended to the female driver of the Passat, who is believed to be the only person injured in the collision.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called to the scene at 12.20pm and attended to one female patient. She was taken to Fairfield General Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was re-opened at 1.20pm, and traffic has returned to normal.
