It’s Shake, Rattle and Roll for Denise Crewe’s 60th

Date published: 15 February 2016

When Denise Crewe thought of raising money for Springhill Hospice for her 60th birthday little did she think she would raise over £100 for each decade she was celebrating.

Denise of Cutgate in Rochdale raised £646.64.

She and her band of supporters took to their locals to shake the donation buckets going from pub to pub – even getting donations and good wishes from passers-by in the street.

Support from Meanwood Primary School, where Denise is a cook, also boosted the coffers.

Charging all visitors to the house was the bright idea of her daughter producing even more money for the pot.

It was declared the best birthday ever by Denise – so much so that plans are already being made to repeat the event for her 61st.
