Claire Renton is to hold a Valentine’s fashion show to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Claire, 31, who was Miss Charity Heart Manchester for 2014/15, will hold the show on Sunday 14 February in the centre of Manchester to raise as much money as possible for the charity which carries out research into heart disease.
Claire told Rochdale Online News: “This will be the first fashion show I have organised and it is going to be such a fun night. We will be showcasing two designers clothing, Little Hill People and Uellas Closet, we also have local hairdressers, makeup artists and models who will be taking part as well as a local magician who has offered to do a show on the night as well.
“The British Heart Foundation really is a brilliant charity and it's one very close to my heart as my dad’s side of the family suffers with heart problems.”
Tristan Jones, Head of Events at the British Heart Foundation, said: “Thanks to Claire for joining the British Heart Foundation’s Heart fundraising team. Without our supporters we cannot continue to fund life-saving research into heart disease and provide those affected with the care and support they need.”
Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, claiming around 73,000 lives a year – that’s an average of 200 lives every day.
Money raised from events such as the fashion show is currently helping to support over 1,000 research projects into heart disease around the UK. Progress is being made but there are still millions of adults and children who need help.
The show will start at 7pm at Tribeca and entry is free.
