Rochdale has above the average Greater Manchester mortality rate

Rochdale has above the average mortality rate for Greater Manchester with 1,156 deaths per 100,000 people in 2014.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show the Greater Manchester area had a mortality rate of 1,099.1 deaths per 100,000 population.
Manchester had the highest death rate in the whole of England with 1,310 deaths per 100,000 people.
Neighbouring Oldham also has a higher mortality rate than Rochdale with 1,216 deaths per 100,000 people.
Stockport has the lowest mortality rate in Greater Manchester with 931 deaths per 100,000 people.
In 2014, the age-standardised mortality rate for the UK was 968.3 deaths per 100,000 population.
