The hunt for top young chefs is on

Budding young bakers and chefs from across the borough are being asked to compete for the crowns of ‘Young Master Chef’ and Young Master Baker’.
The Young Master Chef and Young Master Baker competition will be held at Hopwood Hall College on Monday 21 March. All children from years 7 to 11 are allowed to enter.
The first stage is to submit an application form for their chosen category.
Budding Young Master Chefs should submit a two course menu with recipe and costs for two covers to include chicken breast or salmon (starter and main, with a maximum cost of ingredients being £10), using seasonal produce.
Budding Young Master Bakers should submit recipes and costs for six cupcakes, one large flan or a four to six portion fruit tart of their choice for two covers (maximum cost of ingredients being £6).
Eight finalists will be chosen from each category and be invited to Hopwood Hall College to create their dishes and present to a panel of experts.
The closing date for entries is Friday 12 February.
