Date published: 25 January 2016

Birtle View Medical Practice in Heywood has been rated ‘good’ in recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections.

Registered patients at the practice reported that "they were treated with compassion, dignity and respect and they were involved in their care and decisions about their treatment” prior to and on the day of treatment.

The inspection reports added: "The practice had good facilities and was well equipped to treat patients and meet their needs.”

Feedback from patients about their care at Birtle View Medical Practice "was consistently and strongly positive”.

David Beckett, GTD Healthcare chief executive, said he was delighted with the positive outcome. He added: "These ratings really demonstrate staff commitment to providing services that meet our patients’ needs. We continuously strive to enhance the services at our GP practices and, in doing so, we aim to ensure that we put our patients first.”

Six GTD Healthcare GP practices have now been inspected by the CQC, all of which have been rated ‘good’.

The CQC monitors, inspects and regulates services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety in the NHS.
