Sandy Lane has been blocked this morning (Friday 22 January) after a three-car collision outside Spotland Stadium.

Police were called out at 7.40am after the three cars including a Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Scenic and Hyundai crashed, with one of the drivers seen running from the scene.

The driver, who suffered facial injuries, later returned to the scene and was arrested under Section 5, for driving whilst under the influence.

Greater Manchester Police has said that the other drivers haven’t suffered any major injuries.
The road is expected to be opened up as normal “very soon”.
