Date published: 19 January 2016

A man was attacked and bundled into a car in Milnrow.

At around 5.20pm on Sunday (17 January), a man parked his car on the street outside the Waggon Inn, Butterworth Hall in Milnrow when three masked men attacked him and bundled him into their car, a black Ford, which was on false number plates.

The man was located safe and well in the early hours of  Monday at his home in Milnrow.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Detective Inspector Lee Hopwood said: “This incident will be understandably worrying for the local community but I want to give them some reassurance that this was a targeted attack and the local community should not feel unduly concerned.

“There were a lot of people at the pub at the time who witnessed the incident and I would ask that these people come forward and tell police what they saw or give us any information they may have about who is involved.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8754 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
