York House is the only GP surgery in the borough with a closed list

Following an investigation by the BBC which found that hundreds of GP surgeries in England have stopped taking on new patients or have applied to do so, Rochdale Online can reveal that York House in Heywood is currently the only GP surgery in the borough to close its list.
On the NHS Choices website, which offers patients information about surgeries, it says: “York House Surgery have currently closed their patient registration list until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Pleased use the search engine for another surgery close to your address.”
It also states on the website that there are currently 3,635 patients registered at the surgery.
York House did not respond to a request for comment.
