Councillor Murphy back in Rochdale
Date published: 28 November 2007
Labour Councillor David Murphy has returned to Rochdale – but for how long the Lib Dems are asking. A number of people have confirmed that Councillor Murphy has been seen in Rochdale Town Hall.
Adam Power, the Lib Dem Agent in the Middleton North By-election called the Flying Horse Hotel in Rochdale, where Councillor Murphy stayed on his last return from Spain for a Council meeting; when he asked for a ‘David Murphy’ he was told that no David Murphy was booked as staying there but a room was booked under the company name ‘Labour’.
There was controversy last month when the Lib Dems accused Councillor Murphy of moving to Spain. His wife, Ann moved there earlier this year and Councillor Murphy had not been seen since the last Council Meeting – until now.
