Danczuk hypocrisy over floods

Date published: 29 December 2015

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk stands accused of the height of hypocrisy after he criticised the chairman of the Environment Agency, Sir Philip Dilley, for not visiting flood hit communities, despite his “fun evening” out in Leyland with his girlfriend whilst Rochdale was suffering the devastating consequences of floods.

Mr Danczuk told The Telegraph: “I think it’s fair to ask why he has not visited the north of England over the past few days to explain what the Agency is doing."

Local residents severely criticised Mr Danczuk for deserting his constituents, in their hour of need, for a night out with his girlfriend whilst homes and businesses were left devastated by flood water after 35.4mm of rain fell in Rochdale in just 12 hours.
