Ellysse, 20, from Syke, has been spending her time since winning the Rochdale talent contest developing her sound and style.

Speaking to Rochdale Online she said: “Everything has been great since I won Rochdale’s Got Talent. I haven’t done many gigs because I really wanted to find my sound and then wanted to get my music out there so I’ve really been doing that. My sound is very silky pop but my EP contains a variety of genres. The EP has slow songs, piano songs and upbeat songs.

“The EP comes from deep down within me and is really about how people think with anxiety and how things are viewed differently. The EP has a lot of ups and downs on it but it has all come from me and the lyrics mean a lot.”

The EP was released on 18 December and was created entirely by Ellysse.

“I have done everything myself, I have written all of the songs and produced everything at home. I then put it on iTunes myself,” said Ellysse.

Following the release, Ellysse says the response has been positive.

She added: “I am really happy that it is out there now and people seem to be enjoying it. It has gone down really well and the feedback that I have been getting is that people really love it. My family and friends have been great because they know how much it means to me.”

Ellysse is now ready to start gigging again and will be performing in Rochdale on 21 February 2016.

“I will be getting back to doing some gigs in the New Year and I am really looking forward to it. I am a bit nervous but I am excited,” she said.

The EP is available on iTunes and Spotify.
