Rochdale’s Foodbank has received support from the local Skipton Building Society branch.
Steven Gooding, manager at Skipton’s Rochdale branch in Yorkshire Street said: “The event was a great success with donations from customers and staff. We would like to thank everyone for their contributions.”
Margaret Wight, Rochdale Foodbank Manager said: “We have been delighted by the support of local businesses. Sadly, winter always sees a large increase in demand for our services and the support from organisations like the Skipton branch is very welcome. People who donate any items can be assured that every item will go to someone in our town who needs help.”
Almost 13 million people in the UK live below the poverty line with food banks providing emergency food for more than one million people - and the need for their help will only increase during the winter months.
