F.A.M.E. beckons for hair stylist Melissa Timperley

Date published: 22 December 2015

Melissa Timperley, of Wardle, has won a place on The Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s F.A.M.E. Team. The Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence (F.A.M.E.) Team are selected annually to promote a new generation of bright young hairdressers.

Following an awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London, Melissa and the three other F.A.M.E. Team members will participate in a year-long series of training, styling shows, workshops and photoshoots with some of the hairdressing world’s leading lights.

Melissa commented: “I’m really excited to begin my year as a F.A.M.E. Team member, particularly as the highlights of the programme include stage shows at Salon International in London and Pro Hair Beauty South Africa in Johannesburg in August 2016.”

Earlier in her career Melissa achieved the rare feat being awarded a distinction in both her classic and creative hair styling exams with Sassoon – known to be the toughest in the hairdressing world. Last year she won the Umberto Giannini Project X award which recognises up and coming talent in the industry.

Melissa, 22, is preparing to be an Assistant Creative Director at Sassoon in Manchester and has already been involved in major hair and fashion shows and photographic shoots in both Manchester and London and is now attracting a strong following of clients.
