Petrus Incredible Edible Rochdale (PIER) has entered a national competition, run by Galaxy Hot Chocolate, to win an award of £300 towards developing cooking projects at the Petrus Incredible Medical Allotment on Belfield Road.
The fund, which sees hundreds of community groups applying for the prize money, would enable PIER to cook the food harvested at its allotment on site straight from the plant to the plate and to deliver community food events throughout the year where people can learn how to cook fresh, healthy dishes and how to grow the ingredients at home or at the allotment.
The prize money is awarded at the end of each month to the entries with the most votes. PIER is asking the local community to help by voting for their project on line via the funds website.
