Mayor supports Coffee Rockers event

Home Instead Senior Care is delighted with the success of their first monthly coffee rockers event which took place at Horse Carrs, Shawclough Road, Rochdale.

The team from the care company were pleased that local Mayor, Mohammed Zaman, paid a visit to meet the attendees and get to know the staff from Home Instead.

The non-profit free monthly event has been set up by Home Instead to encourage elderly members of the Rochdale community, and especially those who may be lonely, to come along and meet new people. The aim is to reach out to those who might otherwise not have the means or inclination to leave their homes.

David Bradshaw, owner of Home Instead in Rochdale, said: “We are over the moon with the success of our first monthly Coffee Rockers event. Over 60 people came to the event and we were honoured to have Mayor Mohammed Zaman attend.

“Professional singer Ian Jenkins provided the entertainment and he was a hit as he mainly sang songs from the 1960s. He got the attendees singing along and dancing whilst one of our staff was on their feet playing an inflatable guitar alongside him.”

After the entertainment, a lovely buffet lunch was provided by C and C Catering as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks and cupcakes from Tesco on Silk Street.

Marks and Spencers, Rochdale, Chorlton Transport and The Physiotherapy Clinic all helped with sponsoring the launch event and supporting the local community.
