Cuisines from 17 different countries were on offer alongside traditional dance and music performances, plus displays of traditional dress and activities.

The Mayor, MP Tony Lloyd and Councillor Janet Emsley were amongst those enjoying gourmet dishes from around the world.

Tracie Powers, of organisers Vintage Worx, said: “It has been a phenomenal success and I’m absolutely buzzing.”

Mayor Zaman said: “The food was excellent, with many stalls and displays. It was great to see traditional dishes from across the world that are both healthy and tasty. There is a need to bring traditional dishes like these to younger people, so they aren’t forgotten and also encourage a healthy lifestyle.

“It has been good to learn new recipes and enjoy the entertainment. Thank you to Tracie and all the other volunteers who made this possible.”

Councillor Emsley added: “Once again, this was a fantastic international event with something for everybody and something for all the family. The volunteers here do a fantastic job; they make a mean cup of tea, and an amazing slice of cake.”
