Nick Byrne Photography in the Rochdale Online Department Store

Date published: 17 November 2014

Nick Byrne Photography, a new photography business in Rochdale, is using the Rochdale Online Department Store to sell prints of Rochdale and other landmarks and scenes to customers.

Nick, who started the business a few months ago, first developed a love of photography whilst at college. He was then given the opportunity to photograph local landmarks to try and capture something original. His interest peaked as he was challenged to try and find the unusual in everyday buildings and scenery in his work.

He said: “I only started the business a few months ago so it is really in the early stages but I thought the store is a good way of promoting my business and getting my name out there.”

Nick is currently selling a variety of prints that capture aspects of Rochdale - the Town Hall, the Cenotaph and Spotland Stadium are available for sale as well as a number of other interest points from across the borough and the world.

“I wanted to start by selling things that people can recognise,” said Nick. “I think with the store being in Rochdale, it is best to sell things that people are more familiar with.”

He added: “I think it is a really good opportunity and a really good platform for people who want to sell online. The store is really easy to use and is really user friendly so it is a good place for people to go to who may be new to shopping online.”

Nick Byrne Photography is one of 50 local businesses using the department store to sell their products and with Christmas just around the corner, Nick is using the department store to his advantage.

“With Christmas just around the corner I hope people will look to the store for ideas. Some of the things I have listed would make good presents,” said Nick.
