Local artist Geoff Butterworth limited edition prints of his original artwork can now be bought in the Rochdale Online Department Store.
Geoff, who described himself as a “dinosaur” when it comes to technology, realised the store can help reach a much wider audience with his work.
He said: “I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to this type of thing so I was selling from galleries. I think by using the store it is a good way to reach more people and target a wider audience.”
Geoff started painting full time in 1980 after a serious motorbike accident ended his career in engineering.
By using the Rochdale Online Department Store, Geoff can sell limited edition pieces to people in the comfort of their own homes.
Geoff added: “Everything I am putting in the store is a limited edition piece. As things progress and develop I might look at putting some originals up there as well or might take requests from people as to what they want but for the minute everything is limited edition.”
The Rochdale Online Department store launched just over three weeks ago and has already seen many orders placed with a variety of retailers.
Geoff has fulfilled orders and said: “With our orders we want to make sure they are packaged nicely and securely and that they are prepared and posted on the same day. We want to do it right and get a good reputation from it.”
The Rochdale Online Department Store gives local retailers the opportunity to be part of a local retail hub and to benefit from the massive Rochdale Online audience.
Geoff is encouraging people to use the store and added: “I would tell people that it is very reliable and that it should be used.”
