As the colder nights and darker days draw in, what better way to get cosy with family and friends than with a cracking new menu from The Medicine Tap!
Although some classics such as The Medicine Tap Fish Finger Sandwich, and the ultimate steak sandwich aptly titled ‘The King of the Taps’ remain, the menu has been refreshed and updated to incorporate some contemporary dishes, as well as showcasing some national favourites.
Plant based dishes have become hugely popular, so the chef has been working on some great alternatives to meat too - check out The Plant Burger!
Caroline Norton, owner of the Medicine Tap, said: ‘It has been a collaboration of heads, mainly Dave Campbell, the head chef, John and myself (owners), looking at dining trends and what customers are wanting, and then making that happen with a huge emphasis on quality and taste.
“We spent such a lot of time getting it right, I’d actually say it’s been a six-month process. The staff loved all the sample dishes we were making!”
Located in the Grade II listed former post office building in Rochdale town centre, The Medicine Tap source all their produce from the best regional suppliers within Lancashire.
With a keen eye on food art, the presentation of each dish follows The Medicine Tap’s unique style; taking a humble dish like sausage and mash and turning it into something spectacular.
Desserts haven’t been bypassed either; the eye catching ‘Swinging Sweets’ - a melted chocolate dipping dessert made up of waffles, strawberries brownies and marshmallow - is already becoming hugely popular amongst visitors. Give the Ginton Mess a try - the Medicine Tap's take on an Eton mess with real gin ice cream, raspberries and meringue.
A new Sunday Menu has also been introduced which features a three-course menu, with the option to have one, two or three courses. Pride of place on this menu sits one of the most awaited and requested dishes - The Tap Sunday Roast.
John Stoner, owner, said: ‘We’ve been asked several times to do a roast dinner as there are few places locally that do it, so we were keen to create one. The Sunday menu is excellent value for money.
“We are overwhelmed with the response to our food and delighted with our talented chefs.”
In addition, a luxury Christmas menu has been launched ready for the party season.
Three courses for £25 per person will be served every day from Monday 25 November - Tuesday 24 December 2019.
If you’re after a more private function, The Vault Bar is great for a party event or a small gathering.
To celebrate a year since its opening, The Medicine Tap welcomed ‘The Vault’ in March 2019 - a stunning new cocktail bar appropriately named due to its collection of antique safes.
There are a variety of dining options available from a sit-down meal to a party buffet to cocktails and canapes. The Medicine Tap even do festive buffets that are great for a Christmas party.
If you wish to book a table or enquire about a Christmas booking or function, telephone The Medicine Tap on 01706 869828.
