Date published: 17 May 2017
If you’re looking for something to eat, drink and free entertainment, head down to the new Street Eat event coming to Rochdale Town Hall Square on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May.
Tasty food from the town’s restaurant chefs will be served over the Bank Holiday Weekend, with dozens of mouth-watering dishes at £3 each, including Spanish, Italian, Chinese, English, German, American and more.
There will also be activities and rides for the children, a bar for the adults and live entertainment for everyone throughout both days.
Live music will be hosted by Revolution 96.2, featuring amongst others - The Funky Two Hats, guitar soloist Jimi Marsh and acoustic guitarist Lee Feeney. Uncle Monkey will be playing rock and folk covers and Gemma Fox will be singing rock classics too.
There will be Punch and Judy Shows for the children every two hours from midday and guest appearances by Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean!
Mark Foxley from Rochdale Town Centre Management, who is organising the event with support from Rochdale Borough Council, said: “The vendors will be from Rochdale town centre eateries, which proves how much talent there is locally.
"The sights, sounds, the smells and of course the tastes will make for an unmissable two days on every foodie’s calendar. It’s family-friendly – you’ll be able to buy and try as many small dishes as you like, and enjoy them in a great atmosphere.”
Street food traders will be selling an array of delicious food alongside a bar and live entertainment.
Traders include: La Mancha, Cocka Doodle Moo, The Clock Tower Dining Room, The Arts Café, Vicolo del Vino, The Flying Horse Hotel, Red & Hot World Buffet and more.
Admission is free.
