Date published: 27 March 2017
The cinema will play 14 films throughout the week at 11am and 2pm each day.
Families across Rochdale are set for a week of entertainment during the school holidays, as the town’s shopping centre is gearing up to open its first pop-up cinema featuring a full programme of fun family favourites.
From Monday 3 April to Sunday 9 April, the free movie screen will be opening at Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre showing a whole host of popular children’s flicks, including Finding Dory, Fantastic Beasts, Trolls and Moana.
The centre’s first cinema, which will be located next to Home Bargains, will play 14 films throughout the week at 11am and 2pm each day.
Lorenzo O’Reilly, Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre manager, said he couldn’t wait to welcome parents and their children to the pop-up cinema during the school holidays. “We’re really excited to have a cinema in the centre,” he said. “This is the first time we have had anything like this at Rochdale Exchange, so we are sure it is going to be a huge success with our shoppers.”
“The week-long event will kick off on Monday with a showing of fishy tale Finding Dory for the little ones at 11am and then a special screening of the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at 2pm,” Lorenzo added.
Every shopper, who spends in a Rochdale Exchange store between Saturday 1 and Sunday 9 April will have the opportunity to enter the pop-up cinema for free. “People will have the chance to either pre-book or collect tickets on the day for a showing of their choice. The weekend before the launch and throughout the week, our cinema stewards will be at the centre to allocate free tickets to shoppers,” he said. “All shoppers have to do is present their receipt to a steward with their name, postcode and which store they were shopping in to receive a ticket.”
“We hope everyone has a fantastic time at Rochdale Exchange’s pop-up cinema and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoy their favourite family films.”
*The special cinema will be open at Rochdale Exchange between Monday 3 and Sunday 9 April with showings at 11am and 2pm each day. To attend a screening, shoppers need to present a receipt from any Rochdale Exchange store along with their details to the cinema team. A valid receipt entitles entry to up to two adults and two children or one adult and three children.
