Middle East Export opportunities for North West Food and Hospitality Businesses

Date published: 31 January 2013

North West food firms are invited to make the most of a wealth of export opportunities in the Middle East by joining UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) on a trade mission to Gulfood in Dubai next month.

Companies have until Friday 8 February to register for the visit, which will be led by experienced UKTI staff to ensure that participants are able to maximise the benefits of attending such an important event.

Gulfood is the world’s largest annual show for the food and hospitality sector, covering everything from food and drink to packaging and machinery. This year the show is set to be the biggest ever, with over 4,200 exhibitors, cookery competitions and demonstrations, conferences – including the Global Food Leaders’ Summit - and the Gulfood Awards.

This is a valuable opportunity to network with thousands of industry peers worldwide, and to learn the latest trends and innovations in the food network from beginning to end, looking at everything from raw ingredients and machinery to finished products and restaurant styling.

North West companies will benefit from a briefing by the British Embassy on arrival and a market report concentrating on opportunities specific to the sector.

The trade visit will begin with a networking reception organised by Embassy staff, and, as well as entry to the show, firms will be able to take part in store visits, food service visits and a tour of the city.

Local embassy staff and the UKTI mission manager will be on hand at all times to offer advice and support.

The mission is from Monday 25 February to Thursday 28 February and interested parties should contact Jackie Nolan for an application form at events@uktinorthwest.co.u.k or call Jackie on 0161 875 2335 by 8 February.

The programme package is subsidised by UKTI and additional support may be available for eligible North West SME companies who have been trading for a minimum of 12 months.
