Affinity Dental failed to pay worker National Minimum Wage
Date published: 28 October 2015
Affinity Dental in Milnrow has been named and shamed by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, after it was revealed that they failed to pay the National Minimum Wage to one member of staff.
It was revealed that the practice failed to pay that member of staff £1,452.02.
Business Minister Nick Boles said: “Employers that fail to pay the minimum wage hurt the living standards of the lowest paid and their families.
“As a one nation government on the side of working people we are determined that everyone who is entitled to the National Minimum Wage receives it.
“Next April we will introduce a new National Living Wage, which will mean a £900-a-year pay rise for someone working full time on the minimum wage and we will enforce this equally robustly.”
Affinity Dental was one of 113 employers named by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills for failing to pay the National Minimum Wage.
All 113 cases were thoroughly investigated by HMRC.
Affinity Dental did not respond to a request for comment.
