Lipsinc aim to nurture new musicians talent
Katie Cooksey is providing rehearsal rooms and a recording studio and already has 10 bands on her books. Together with three other members of her band Jobe, Katie decided to launch Lipsinc when they could not find high-quality rehearsal space and realized there was a gap in the market.
"Lipsinc is run by musicians for musicians," says Katie, who has a music degree from Lancaster University. "We want to improve the experience of new musicians and nurture their talent. We also target schools, community groups and charities, and encourage other arts organizations to use our premises as their base."
"NES helped me set up my business properly," explains Katie, who finished the programme in March. "It provided practical information and everyone worked together in a very encouraging atmosphere. We have converted industrial units into rehearsal rooms and the business support funds helped with building work and insurance. The funds also gave us valuable breathing space on the rent while we set up." To find out more, contact Katie on 07736 307925 or email kt@lipsinc.co.uk. You can also visit www.lipsinc.co.uk
