Craft Workers Inaugural August Network

Date published: 07 September 2004

Creative businesses are major players in today’s economy and there is a growing market for beautiful and different goods. But many craftspeople are sole traders and struggle to find the resources to sell their products as well as make them.

A group of women, all starting craft businesses, were invited to the Women's Enterprise office to discuss ways in which they can work together to start a mini “creative cluster” in Rochdale. They found they had a lot in common.

As a result of the meeting they are investigating buying materials together, creating a website, sharing stalls at craft fairs and possibly premises.

If you are producing handmade crafts and would like to be involved with the group please contact Jane or Barbara on 01706 646471.
