The Business Golf Society has raised £556.56 for Francis House.
Sponsored by David Harris of Target Fire, based in Rochdale, the golf event saw 80 golfers take part at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club.
Speaking about the event, Mr Harris said: “The event went really well. Southport and Ainsdale Golf Course is a real test for golfers.”
As well as playing golf, a charity raffle was held for a watch bought by Target Fire.
Mr Harris and the Golf Society have been thanked by Francis House for their fundraising efforts.
A letter to Mr Harris, it reads: “I would like to convey my sincere thanks to you again for your fabulous donation of £556.56. It is truly a wonderful amount to receive. Thank you very much for your support again at these golf events and taking the time to organise your raffles – it is greatly appreciated. Also many thanks to all those who supported you and bought raffle tickets helping you to raise this amount.
“On behalf of our children and their families who are unable to do so personally, I send a big thank you again for your kind donation and continued support.”
Mr Harris added: “I am very pleased with the amount we raised as it’s not cheap to play at these type of courses and then for these guy to dip into their pockets again is very pleasing.”
Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions and also provides a home from home where families can receive professional care, support and friendship.
Target Fire is to sponsor an event in March, which will be at Hillside Golf Club, to raise money for the Parkinson’s society in Rochdale.
