Local Business Week 18 – 24 May
Local Business Week (18 to 24 May) is a call to action to both the public and the new government to continue to support local enterprises.
The campaign also calls on entrepreneurial, managerial, financial and technical experts to give advice and resources that small business owners can use to compete with big business.
Now in its 10th year, Local Business Week 2015 continues to rally the support of the public and small business across the country by encouraging Brits to shop local while also giving guidance to small business owners.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for more than 99% of all UK business and nearly half of all private sector employment, making the support and growth of local commerce as important as ever in driving economic stability and opening new markets in communities.
Britain is sustained by its 4.8 million small businesses. They form a key part of the economy and provide jobs to the majority of the population, to ignore them would be fatal to the country’s financial health.
