Performance Doorset Solutions provided authentic windows for a Grade 2 listed conservation project of an old stone cottage overlooking Hollingworth Lake.
Performance Doorset Solutions (PDS) has recently provided their flush fitting casement windows for a Grade 2 listed conservation project of an old stone cottage overlooking Hollingworth Lake.
The two storey wash stone property was built in the early 19th Century and is considered a building of historical interest. A local couple purchased it with the vision of conserving it, reinstating its charm and making it their dream family home.
The owners, who placed an order for 22 PDS’ flush fitting timber casement windows and a French door, were pleased with the end result, saying: "The world and his wife have commented on our windows, asking where we sourced them. They love the colour, style, etc., we have even had notes put through the door asking where we got them."
A spokesperson for PDS commented: "We are pleased to have been involved in this local conservation project. Wood is the only manufacturing material that should be considered for a project of this kind. It would be a crime to complement the water shot stone and slate roof with a non-organic material. The property now looks absolutely stunning and will certainly get some enviable stares of the people walking around the lake."
