The size of the Rochdale Online website audience grew massively in 2014 from an already record high. An average of over 144,000 unique users accessed the site every month in 2014 (source: Google Analytics) up from 98,000 per month in 2013.
The size of the audience is why Rochdale Online's advertising revenue continues to grow and a record 506 businesses/organisations leveraged the website's huge audience to market their goods and services in 2014.
Access via a mobile device continues its upward trend with the percentage of site visitors using a mobile now up to 55%.

Commenting, Managing Director Pauline Journeaux, said: "Rochdale Online has had the largest audience in town for many years and the sheer number of people who can be reached via the site is an advertisers dream.
"We are very proud of what, as a small family company based on a news and information website started by one local man from his bedroom, we have achieved.
"As a Rochdale based company that employs people who live here we are also proud that we continue to contribute to the local economy.
"A huge thank you to all our readers and advertisers for their continued support."
2014 also saw the launch of Rochdale Online's latest venture, the Rochdale Online Department Store, soon to be re-branded and extended to reach outside the borough.

Mrs Journeaux said: "The store has been very well received locally and there are over 50 local independent retailers selling around 2,000 products via the store.
"We are currently in the process of a complete re-branding and hope to launch the new site in mid August."
