Businesses set up in Rochdale Emporium

Rochdale Emporium
Three independent businesses have set up shop up in Rochdale Emporium in Rochdale Town Centre.
CJ's Baby Boutique moved to the Emporium from Drake Street. The boutique sells a variety of baby clothes and goods.
Carole Johnson, owner of CJ's Baby Boutique, said: "It's a nice central location which I liked."
"I think it's about letting people know that we are here and that there are businesses back in the Emporium. We want to make this a hub for small businesses."
Anne's Jewellery set up shop in the Emporium just last week. Anne's Jewellery sells a variety of jewellery products as well as wedding accessories and satchels.
Anne-Marie Soutar, from Anne's Jewellery, said: "I spoke to a few people here and it seemed like a good place to set up."
Anne-Marie’s business is relatively new but she has seen a positive reaction to her business. She added: "We have had people coming in and having a look."
Anne-Marie hopes to stay in the Emporium for the long run. She said: "We want to promote independent businesses and I think the people are really nice here so hopefully I will be staying here.”
Tree Tweets is also located in the Emporium. Tree Tweets sells balloons, sweet gifts and party accessories and originally started life as an online business.
Katrina Kelly, from Tree Tweets, said: "We were really successful online and wanted to give this a try."
Location was also key to Katrina when looking for business premises. She said: "It is a good location here and I think with the development of the town centre, it will start to pick up again."
Katrina has been in the Emporium for two weeks and also hopes to stay in the premises for the long run.
She added: "I'm going to see how things go but I hope to stay here for the long run. I think it's just about letting people know that we are here and promoting the businesses."
Rochdale Emporium is located on Yorkshire Street in Rochdale Town Centre.
