Heywood freight firm has its distinctive trucks shown on Truck World

Date published: 27 February 2014

Joe Sharp Freight, which provided five trucks for last year's Charities Fete, is based on Sefton Street and featured on Truck World TV, described as 'Top Gear for trucks' - featuring the firm's imaginative air-brushed trucks.

Joe Sharp, who started the business with his wife Jackie about 20 years ago with just one truck, has built up a fleet of more than 20 vehicles.

The cabs main colours are pink and cream but the artwork is multi-coloured with mainly Nordic themes, although one of the cabs is made up of pirates of the Caribbean.

George Kinder, from Heywood Charities Fete, said: "We are proud to be associated with Joe Sharp International Transport and show our appreciation for all their efforts in providing floats. Their artistic air-brushed designed cabs are so stunning that they are recognised and acknowledged throughout Britain and Europe.

"It great to see that a local Heywood company is punching up above its weight, for me it just shows what can be achieved from a small beginning."
