New business start ups
Date published: 13 December 2013
More than 130 businesses have been established in Rochdale since the New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) was launched in 2011.
Under the NEA, entrepreneurial jobseekers are given the opportunity to have expert coaching and financial support to establish their own business.
Minister for Employment Ester Mcvey said: “This is a great example of how the New Enterprise Allowance is helping aspirational jobseekers turn their business ideas into a reality.
The NEA offers expert mentoring and financial support to jobseekers who want to start up their own business, helping people who have previously been on benefits turn their business ideas into successful enterprises.
