Fisherfield Farm Nurseries celebrates hat-trick of 'outstanding' Ofsted reports

Date published: 11 December 2013

Local Children’s Nursery Group, Fisherfield Farm Nurseries has scored a hat trick as all three of their nurseries were awarded “Outstanding” in recent inspections by Ofsted. The three nurseries – Edinburgh Way, The Gables and Bury College - were all inspected in 2013 and all received the highest grade of “Outstanding”.

Nicky MacGill, Director, said she was delighted: “At Fisherfield Farm we recognise the importance of having a highly qualified workforce and we are extremely proud that the passion and commitment demonstrated by our staff has been deemed outstanding by Ofsted”.

Highlights from the inspectors’ reports include the following:

  • Staff have an outstanding knowledge of how children learn and provide rich, challenging and varied activities, as a result of highly precise assessment and planning.
  • Performance management of staff, including their training needs, is rigorous so that quality of teaching and standards for children’s welfare are maintained to an exceptionally high level.
  • Children’s behaviour throughout the nursery is outstanding. Children consider each other’s feelings.
  • The nursery is very successful in helping parents to be directly involved in their children’s learning through a variety of means.

Jude Heald, Early Years Consultant, commented: "Achieving outstanding at all three nurseries is indicative of the hard work and culture of continuous improvement that exists within each setting; the staff team really deserve this recognition.”
