Save money with resource efficiency
Date published: 14 April 2008
With 2008 starting out on an uncertain economic footing, embracing resource efficiency could help local firms to mitigate the impact of market pressures on their bottom line, says Envirowise.
This message comes as the manufacturing and service sectors face even greater pressure to increase product prices than at any point in the past. With continued concern over the effects of recent stock market falls, Rochdale based companies could understandably be feeling the squeeze.
Jacqueline Roberts, Resource Efficiency Expert from Environmental Business Services, Groundwork, commented: “Companies in Rochdale will be acutely aware of the recent business headlines that appear to signal a difficult year ahead economically.
“But by eliminating wasteful practices now and embracing a more efficient use of resources, companies can put themselves in a strong position – one that could potentially mean not having to pass on price rises to customers. In turn, this could have the added benefit of safeguarding valuable business relationships.”
For this reason, Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale is encouraging businesses to take part in the ‘How2: Save Money with Resource Efficiency’ event that will be taking place on 15th May from 8:30am to 11am at the Environment Centre in Oldham.
This two-hour event will introduce resource efficiency, looking at consumption of energy and water along with waste production, and identify how you can reduce these overheads and therefore your environmental impact.
The event is a perfect introduction in tackling this most relevant of issues, highlighting how you can banish wasteful practices, and how Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale are here to provide expert guidance, bespoke to your business.
The course is £30 (+ VAT) for Business Environment Association members and £50 (+ VAT) for non-members. For further information or to book your place on the course, please contact Kate Harcus on 0161 624 1444 or kate.harcus@groundwork.org.uk
