Date published: 28 October 2013

Zen Internet has won Gold Award for Best Retail - Commercial or Business Park, Overall Winner for Best Retail - Commercial or Business Park and Discretionary Award for Best Commercial effort at the North West in Bloom Awards 2013.

Zen originally entered the competition as part of the Rochdale in Bloom entry where Rochdale won the Silver Gilt Award for Best Large Town, Small City.

“Zen’s grounds are quite extensive and need a lot of care and attention. In order to bring the grounds up to the highest standard we needed volunteers to help prepare for the competition. So thank you to all the volunteers who came forward and carried out a fantastic job, I can't thank them enough,” said Michael Marland, Buildings and Security Manager.

“We would also like to thank Greenman Landscapes who contribute on a regular basis to keeping our grounds in excellent condition,” added Michael.

Britain in Bloom is one of the longest running and well known environmental competitions in the United Kingdom.

North West in Bloom is the voluntary regional organisation that runs the competition in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the improvement of our surroundings through the imaginative use of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping. It also aims to achieve a litter free and sustainable environment. This links directly to the four key aims of the Royal Horticultural Society which are, Horticultural Excellence, Community Involvement, Environmental Friendliness and Sustainability.
