Date published: 21 October 2013

Manufacturers are set to benefit from a new HR consultancy service from EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, which will help them adapt their business from survival mode to take advantage of the growing economic recovery.

EEF has been advising manufacturers for over 120 years and has an unparalleled understanding and experience of workplace dynamics and industrial relations. Its expert team of HR practitioners are well-placed to advise manufacturers of all sectors and sizes on how they can realise their growth potential.

The ‘Hands-on HR’ service will include 20 minutes of free consultation to help manufacturers get started on the path to growth alongside a series of free practical guides covering a wide range of HR issues including union relations, restructure and reorganisation, employee engagement and talent management.

The guides will give manufacturers the essentials they need to be fully compliant with HR procedures, practices and processes and will provide a library of valuable resources including top tips, practice tools and downloadable documents that will help manufacturers develop their workforces and grow their business.

The new service will comprise of three themes. ‘Compliance’, which will provide companies with basic advice and guidance on their statutory obligations, ‘efficiency’, which will put companies on the road to making their workforces as efficient as possible, improving employee relations, increasing employee engagement, and reducing levels of absence and finally, the ‘growth’ element will help manufacturers realise their true growth potential by providing solutions to improving employee performance, motivation and morale. It will focus closely on activities that directly impact on bottom line performance.

Perri Chauhan, EEF’s National HR Consultancy Lead, commented: “We are committed to helping manufacturers make their business work best for them and their employees. Our range of consultancy services and practical workshops in HR and employment law, from flexible working to absence management to working successfully with trade unions demonstrates how dedicated we are to optimising efficiency and helping manufacturers grow.”
