Jamie Thompson, site manager at The Vistas development being built by Barratt Homes in Heywood has won a prestigious award in the NHBC national quality awards to find the best standards and quality in new home building in Britain.

Jamie gained official recognition for the excellence of the Barratt in Heywood with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Site managers working for Barratt Group across the UK scooped a record-breaking 102 awards for quality workmanship. This is the highest number ever won by a single company since the competition began in 1980.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Jamie will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Britain.

Almost 13,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

Neil Goodwin, Managing Director at Barratt Manchester, said: “The official recognition of the jobs site managers are doing, shows that Barratt Manchester is building some of the best quality homes in the country here. The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and that is why we are so delighted to win these national awards.”
