Northern Employment Services promotes General Manager
Date published: 25 March 2008

A new director joins the board of Rochdale based Northern Employment Services, one of Greater Manchester’s largest independent agencies. Chris Chamberlain, who lives in Rochdale, joined the agency as General Manager in 2000 and has been promoted to Operations Director.
Mr Chamberlain brought with him valuable experience in the recruitment industry and used his skills to successfully implement total quality management procedures. He also implemented Adapt, an industry CRM software system which allowed the agency to completely restructure operations and make significant improvements to the accuracy and speed of matching candidates to employment positions available. This new infrastructure has also allowed the agency to widen their geographical presence, with positions now filled throughout the UK for a number of blue chip clients.
Mr Chamberlain comments: “I have worked closely with the board so far and the results of our efforts as a team have been recognised by the achievement of Investors in People standard at our first attempt as well as becoming the first agency regionally and the second nationwide to achieve the accreditation Putting the Customer First. In the future my main objective is to facilitate the ambitious growth plans we have as a company”
Joan Pooley, Director of the agency comments: “The results that Chris has achieved since 2000 have contributed greatly to where the agency is today and we are delighted he is taking over responsibility of the agency’s operations.”
The agency, which was set up by Joan Pooley and Stephanie Duckworth will also be celebrating 15 years in business in April.
