Date published: 14 February 2012
Over fifty businesses from across Rochdale attended an event to learn more about the opportunities the UK’s wind industry can offer.
‘Wind: The Business Opportunity’, commissioned by the Economic Development team at Rochdale Borough Council and managed by Envirolink, was staged to promote the multi-billion pound business opportunity the UK’s on and offshore wind industry represents.
The event was held at the Middleton campus of Hopwood Hall College. It focussed on how local businesses can diversify into this burgeoning sector and capitalise on its exceptional growth rates.
Speakers from Peel Energy the developer of the Scout Moor Windfarm and Nordex Wind Turbines presented the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry and looked at how local companies could diversify into the wind market.
