Still time to make a difference

Date published: 14 September 2011

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce's Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) for the third quarter is now underway.

The Chamber is inviting businesses to complete the survey to help provide a valuable insight into what is really happening in the local economy.

The QES is part of the country's most powerful business confidence survey, and is sent directly to the Bank of England and the heart of Government. It is one of only three credited in the Bank of England's Quarterly Inflation Report - clear proof that it influences their decision-making when setting monetary policy.

Last quarter, the Chamber had a huge response to the survey, collecting a record number of responses. Greater Manchester businesses make the biggest contribution to the national survey, but Greater Manchester Chamber also collates and analyses responses for 16 accredited Chambers across the region, giving us a view of the economic performance at a local, regional or national level.

Dr Brian Sloan, Chief Economist at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: Economic conditions continue to challenge as a result of domestic policy and the global slowdown. So whether your business is large or small, it is important that we have your input to make sure that policy makers hear what is really going on. With help from the business community, we can put the right arguments forward to support business growth in our region."

The QES takes just three minutes to fill in, and can be found by visiting the Chamber's website: www.gmchamber.co.uk
