Expert advice for self-employed

Date published: 06 September 2011

For anyone becoming self-employed the prospect of having to keep detailed accounts can seem extremely daunting.

Help is at hand, however, in the form of a special session being laid on by HM Revenue and Customs at Rochdale Central Library later this month.

Topics under the spotlight will include record-keeping and tax returns with plenty of practical advice on offer to help you get started.

The event takes place on Wednesday 28 September in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room between 2 - 4.30pm.

The council’s E-Learning and Information Manager, Ian Sutton, said:

“Becoming your own boss is a time of great opportunity and challenges. By getting to grips with accounting procedures straight away you can then focus your full attention on making a success of your business.”

Booking for the session is essential and so to reserve your place speak to a member of the library staff, call 01706 924925 or email wheatsheaf.library@rochdale.gov.uk
