Business Continuity high on the agenda for Business IT decision makers
Date published: 31 May 2011
Zen Internet, recently held conferences in Manchester and London - ‘Unlocking your IT in 2011 – Business Solutions for Challenging Times’.
The events which were held in association with VMware and Fortinet gave IT decision makers the opportunity to discuss their current IT headaches and network with their peers.
Issues such as the recent rise in fuel costs, severe weather conditions, travel strikes and predicted increases in UK fraud levels were discussed, with the events focussing on how businesses can implement essential IT solutions to protect themselves for the future.
It was found that 70.4% of the IT decision makers surveyed before the event stated that their key business priorities over the next 18 months, was to grow their businesses.
But that 52.3% either didn’t have a business continuity plan in place, it wasn’t yet complete, or it was still in the planning phase and that nearly half of IT decision makers businesses had been impacted upon by either, power outages, severe weather, theft or Viruses in the last 12 months.
A focus on growth is clearly of importance, but it’s even more important to ensure what you already have is protected. With this in mind IT decision makers learnt how to protect their businesses against security risks as well as discovering how to run their businesses more efficiently using innovative IT technologies.
A fundamental of business continuity is to ensure your company’s valuable data is protected. One of the simplest and most cost effective approaches for businesses to protect their data is to deploy an online data backup solution such as Zen Vault Enterprise, which provides automated backup for any combination of multiple servers, desktops PCs and laptops across businesses of all sizes, including organisations based across different locations.
Using Attix5 Professional backup and recovery software, Zen Vault Enterprise works in the background, backing up files even if they're open – backing up at any time of day.
Specifically designed for businesses with multiple offices and large storage requirements, Zen Vault Enterprise enables businesses to efficiently centralise data backup within Zen’s Data Centres through the provision of a large allocation of mirrored, UK based SAN storage.
Also at the event IT decision makers were able to explore the latest IT strategies to build their own disaster recovery plans and find out how to get the most of remote working for their workforce.
“The events were a great success. The discussions and questions raised showed a real interest in current and future business solutions to help grow their businesses”, said Andrew Saunders, Head of Product Management and Marketing.
“For most businesses the Internet is a fundamental resource for communication and they need secure and reliable access to critical applications, as without it could have a serious impact on their operations,” added Mr Saunders.
