Entrepreneur moves up a gear with specialist car parts business

A 29-year-old woman from Rochdale is celebrating a successful first six months of trading with her business World of Parts, after turning her classic cars hobby into a business.
Nicola Wyland had previously worked as a commercial buyer in the health sector but with a young family she needed to create a better work/life balance.
Along with husband Lee O’Keefe car restoration had always been an interest so they decided to set up a business selling car parts.
The company, World of Parts, is a classic car parts mail order company, which has its base on Caldershaw Business Park.
Ms Wyland said they saw a need for better availability of classic car parts, especially from the UK.
“I had been wanting to set up my own business for a while and realising I could make money from a hobby seemed a great idea,” she said. “As a working mum with a young family I wanted to make sure that I had the right life balance.”
World of Parts launched in August last year and has seen an ever increasing number of clients buy through the site.
“I am very pleased with how the business has progressed so far,” she said. “We moved into our business premises as we were getting such a demand for parts that we needed a larger commercial space. I am looking into expansion areas at the moment with my husband and we hope to become the UK’s number one classic car parts website.”
